What does it mean to create a font pairing?

Creating a font pairing means using and matching two or more fonts on a text to emphasize something or to express something.

What are the four assignments you chose to do? Write the name of the assignment and describe your design for each.

• I chose "Float like a butterfly Sting like a bee," In this design I had "float like a" in a balloon text above a big and all capitals "butterfly," and "sting like a" in a fierce and pointy font above a big and all capitals "Bee."

• Another design was "What comes easy wont last," I put "what comes easy" in the same cursive font and make "easy" very big, and "wont last" was placed very big in a text with flames

• A famous quote I chose was ,"No pain, no gain," I place "no" above "pain" and "gain" Both big fonts.

• the location I chose was New York, New York. I used two fonts. One was a thick and all capitals in New York above and a skinny and cursive text of New York.

Which assignment would you say is your BEST font pairing and why?

I would say my "New York, New York" pairing is the best because I like how the two fonts go together with one text thick and all caps above a cursive skinny text. Also the amazing New York background makes it look even better.

Which assignment would you say is your Least Successful font pairing and why?

I would say "what comes easy wont last" was my least successful because I thought it was difficult on how I should evenly space the texts in the box and put deciding which fonts would go best with the phrase.

How would you describe the font pairing process? What makes a font pairing so difficult?

The font pairing process went pretty quick and smoothly for me but there were some difficulties. Maintaining both unity and variety could make a font pairing difficult.
